MEET THE VERVE BOOKS TEAM
Jenna Gordon (she/her)
Editorial Director
Jenna joined VERVE Books in an editorial capacity in 2020. She works remotely from Glasgow and is a voracious reader of propulsive, character-driven fiction and voicy, thought-provoking non-fiction. Aside from books, her other loves include podcasts, long walks, yoga classes, TV dramas with 6-10 episodes, red wine and cats.
Ellie Lavender (she/her)
Production Director
Ellie works across production, contracts and rights. She's a keen home baker and loves musical theatre, crochet and country pop. She spends her mornings swimming laps and her evenings curled up with a good book - preferably with a mug of tea and a big slice of cake!
Lisa Gooding (she/her)
Communications Director
Lisa previously freelanced for VERVE when it launched in 2018 and now heads up publicity and marketing strategy for the list. Her all-time career highlight was working with Toni Morrison, when she was at Penguin Random House, and she loves discovering exciting new authors at VERVE. When not in the office, Lisa enjoys swimming and yoga and holidaying around the UK with her family.
Demi Echezona (she/her)
Publishing Executive
Demi is VERVE's Publishing Executive. What does that mean, you ask? It means that she helps with all things publishing! From marketing and PR to editorial work. She loves to read plays and write scripts but also loves to binge anime and manga. If she's not at the office she's out thrifting clothes or enjoying a good bottomless brunch with her friends.
Jem Cook
All Things IT
Jem is our shy and retiring (in all senses of the word) IT person. When things go wrong with our websites, it's up to him to fix whatever it is he's just broken...🙂
