VERVE BOOKS - SUBMISSIONS

We are now open to submissions from new and established writers, seeking new fiction and non-fiction for our 2028 list and beyond. We invite submissions from a broad range of voices, from across the UK and Ireland as well as further afield, and are especially keen to see writing in the following genres: literary fiction, historical fiction, postcolonial gothic, literary horror, 'weird' and speculative fiction, literary memoir and narrative non-fiction. Please note we will not be accepting multiple submissions from authors and cannot consider short stories, children's or young adult (YA) manuscripts.

Proper scrutiny and consideration of submissions is a time-consuming process so don't worry if you haven't heard from us. We thank you for your submission and will consider each one carefully. However, due to the high volume of responses we will be unable to provide individual feedback on every submission so we will only contact you if you have progressed to the next stage. In that instance we will contact you by email by 31 December 2026.
